It paints a soulful, emotional and touching journey of the people of Afghanistan woven in a fabric of simple yet compelling words which brings out the fact that the basic emotions of love,patriotism,jealously,fear,passion,freindiship,pain etc. exist even in a country with which sadly nowadays one associates only war and they have been wonderfully captivated by Hosseini. Of course, he has brought out the reality of the actual turmoil in a small sense.
